Claude Code

Option 1 · Terminal

Command Prompt, PowerShell, macOS or Linux

  1. Open a terminal. On Windows, open Command Prompt or PowerShell; on a Mac, Terminal. You need Claude Code installed (how to install).
  2. Add Goppa. Paste this and press Enter. It is the same command in every terminal.
    claude mcp add --transport http goppa https://trygoppa.com/mcp/account --scope user
    --scope user makes Goppa available in every project, not just the current folder.
  3. Check that it is there.
    claude mcp list
    You should see goppa with ✔ Connected.
  4. Try it. Start Claude Code with claude and ask: "Use Goppa to check example.com". No account needed.
  5. Connect your Goppa account when you want your own data. Inside Claude Code, type /mcp, choose goppa, then Authenticate. Your browser opens Goppa: sign in, or create a free account, and approve read access.
Option 2 · App

The Claude app (desktop or claude.ai)

  1. Open Customize → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Name it Goppa and paste https://trygoppa.com/mcp/account as the URL. Add.
  3. It shows up in Claude Code too. Connectors on your Claude account are available in Claude Code in the terminal, VS Code, JetBrains and the desktop app's Code tab, when you are signed in with the same account. Type /mcp to see it.
Share it with your team (.mcp.json)

Add Goppa for everyone working in a repository: put this file at the project root and commit it. Each person signs in with their own Goppa account.

  "mcpServers": {
    "goppa": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://trygoppa.com/mcp/account"
    }
  }
}

Or from the terminal, in the project folder: claude mcp add --transport http goppa https://trygoppa.com/mcp/account --scope project

Codex

Option 1 · Terminal

Command Prompt, PowerShell, macOS or Linux

  1. Open a terminal. On Windows, open Command Prompt or PowerShell; on a Mac, Terminal. You need the Codex CLI installed (Codex docs).
  2. Add Goppa.
    codex mcp add goppa --url https://trygoppa.com/mcp/account
  3. Check that it is there.
    codex mcp list
    Inside Codex, /mcp shows it too.
  4. Try it. Start Codex with codex and ask: "Use Goppa to check example.com". No account needed.
  5. Connect your Goppa account when you want your own data.
    codex mcp login goppa
    Your browser opens Goppa: sign in, or create a free account, and approve read access.

PowerShell says "running scripts is disabled"? Run the same command in Command Prompt, or type codex.cmd instead of codex.

Option 2 · App

The Codex app or the Codex IDE extension

  1. Open Settings → MCP servers (in the IDE extension, the gear menu → MCP servers) and choose Add server.
  2. Fill it in. Name: goppa. Type: Streamable HTTP. URL: https://trygoppa.com/mcp/account.
  3. Save, then Restart.
  4. Authenticate when you want your own data: the button appears next to goppa in the server list.

The Codex app, the CLI and the IDE extension share the same setup: add Goppa once and it is there in all three.

Prefer the config file?

Add this to ~/.codex/config.toml (on Windows, %USERPROFILE%\.codex\config.toml), then run codex mcp login goppa.

Claude

Web, desktop and mobile

Add it once on your Claude account

  1. Open Customize → Connectors on claude.ai or in the desktop app, and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Name it Goppa and paste https://trygoppa.com/mcp/account. Add.
  3. Ask away. Checking a site works at once. When a question needs your account, Claude shows a Connect button in the conversation: sign in to Goppa, approve read access, and Claude finishes the answer.

On the free Claude plan you can add one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner adds it for the organization.

ChatGPT

Custom MCP server

On the ChatGPT plans that allow custom servers

  1. Open Settings → Plugins and turn on developer mode.
  2. Add a custom MCP server named Goppa with https://trygoppa.com/mcp/account.
  3. Ask away. When a question needs your account, ChatGPT asks you to sign in to Goppa and approve read access.

Try these

What it can read

Without an account: an AI readability check of any public site, and Goppa's study. With your account: your AI visibility measurements, what changed, competitors and sources, your Google rankings, site audit, Search Console and Bing clicks, keyword ideas, backlinks, SEO fixes and next steps. Some tools depend on your plan.

Everything is read-only, except one tool that runs and saves a new check of your public pages. Nothing on your site changes. The full list of tools, what is stored and the limits are on Goppa in your AI assistant.
